Melbourne Recital Centre is an award-winning live music destination championing the best local and international artists and ensembles across two acoustically renowned performance spaces the MRC/MTC Complex features a 500-seat theatre and the 1,000 seat Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Recital Hall, and is one of the world’s leading venues for chamber music.
Due to its busy inner-city location, which is subject to significant low frequency noise, shock, and vibration energy from passing trams and traffic, the venue had to be completely isolated to ensure a world-class acoustical standard.
To meet this demanding specification, Embelton engineered, designed, and manufactured 54 high-load capacity spring isolators upon which the entire auditorium is floated, preventing any noise from entering the auditorium.
Embelton also designed and supplied wall, ceiling, lift and mechanical services isolation ensuring a single point of responsibility for all key vibration control requirements.
